DIED AT HILLSIDE, MICHIGAN--Word has just been received of the death of Mrs. Josiah Collins at Hillside, Michigan, formerly of Mount Elgin, Dereham [township], in the 80th year of her age. Mrs. Collins was born in New York State but came with her father, the late Ira Harris of Dereham [township], Oxford County at an early age. She was married to Mr. Collins who still lives, over 60? years ? and settled on the 6th Concession of Dereham [township], where Tim? Prouse now lives and where Mr. Collins was a very successful farmer for nearly 30 years. Mr. Collins then purchased the old Ira Harris homestead at Mount Elgin where they lied several years, afterwards moving to Hillsdale, Michigan, something over 20 years ago. Besides her sorrowing husband, the deceased lady leaves behind her to mourn her loss: five sons and three daughters: Alexander of Kansas City; Orlando of Paris, Ontario; George of Toronto; Newton and Ulysses of Hillsdale, Michigan; Mrs. F. ? of Toledo, Ohio; Miss Louisa? of ?; Another married daughter, Mrs. Andrew ? of Dereham [township]; and a son, Josiah? predeceased their mother. Two brothers are still living and a sister: ? Harris of Dereham [township]; Dr. Herbert Harris of Hillsdale?; Mrs. A. ? Verc? of Springford. The late ? Harris of Dereham [township] was also a brother. There are many Oxford residents who will remember the late Mrs. Collins and who loved her for her many virtues who will regret to hear of her demise. She was a lifelong Methodist and a devout Christian
