PEYTON - DOSSIERS

Peyton>Phillips>Turner>Paul Turner

Caution: this work is a lot of speculation using an original Peyton Family Tree given to me in the 1980s, using the Parish Records that are on my site and a lot of Internet searching.  Any help appreciated!!!!

09 PEYTON  mc.1770  ROCHFORT  (Rochfort is a combined name of Roch and fort both being french)

Note:   My original Peyton Tree has:  In the late 18th century a Mr. Peyton, probably of Co. Cork, Ireland married Miss Rochfort, called "an aristocrat".
             Children were:
             1.  Isaac - was a colonel in the French Army during the Napoleonic Wars.
             2.  Richard - a shoemaker in Dublin, Margaret, Ann.
             3.  Margaret
             4.  Anne
             5.  Francis married Arabella (or Belinda) Willis, widow who had married at 14 a Mr. Joyce and was let with one child, Eliz. (Morgan).
                  Their children
(Francis and Arabella) were:
                   1.  John, unmarried
                  2.  Wm. m. ? Kingston, lived in New York  --  Wm.; Ann; Rebecca; Minnie
                  3.  Isaac m. Marg Wiseman -- Eliza; Marg; Robt; Sarah; Annie; Isaac; Joseph
                 4.  Richard m. Harriet Connell
                 5.  Frank m. Rebecca Farr -- Frank; Minnie; Rebecca; Lizzie; Frances; Arabella; Wm.
                 6.  Tom d. young
                 7.  Ann m. Wm. Hayes Phillips  > Phillips Tree
                 8.  Rebecca m. Wm. Moxley -- Joe; Eliza; Isabella; Will; Dick; Mary Jane; Frances; Minnie

             12.  another  ? Joseph)
             13.  another

2010 - Found  Peyton Rochforth, s/o Charles Rochfort, Esq & Arrabella, his wife, in the second valt on the right hand, in the Chancell    St. Michan Parish Church, Dublin (COI), pg.400; 18 Oct, 1692   ??  s/o Charles Rochfort, Esq & Mabella Jones: issues- Peyton (? 1662, Wicklow=1692);  Theophilus;  Charles;  Alicia;  Judith

10 Francis PEYTON [c.1775]  m2c.1797  Arabella WILLIS [c.1772-1862] aka Belinda Willis  Abrabella Willis  m1c. 1786  ?? JOYCE
The Peyton names found in the Kinneigh and Ballymoney  Parish records are shown below and I believe the relationships are correct.  The records clearly show that there was a daughter Anne, baptized in 1808, being the daughter of Francis and Arabella.  In the 1851 Griffith's Valuation an entry shows an Arabella Peyton occupying property in the town of Ballineen.  There are some Willises in the parish records. .
Arabella;   was a widow of a Mr. Joyce (Arabella married at ae. 14 and had one child, Elizabeth who may have married a Morgan and this Elizabeth Joyce Morgan may have died 13 Feb, 1867 in Ballineen (a John Peyton was the informant));  Ballymoney Parish Records show an Arabella Peyton of Ballineen interred 4 Mar, 1862.

Ballymoney Parish Records show a Francis Peyton bur. 30 May, 1819 - last child of  Francis may have been a Richard, b. 1818

The following children are been re-sorted since new information has been received and is being found.  My thanks to J. Peyton who has and is giving me much for this re-alignment.

These children have been not been sorted

I doubt this Rebecca m. McKinley and then had a son who married and had Alex > time frame not good.

NO this can not be  m.1887  ??  McKINLEY   A. McKinley [c.1855-1922]
(xx)  Alexander McKINLEY [1906-1922]   (another shot on the night of the killings

One of the least fortunate was young McKinley ( Alexander William Gerald McKinley ) aged 16 (=bc.1906). He was g-grandson of Rebecca Peyton (1826-1911). The 1911 census has him staying at 21 Main St. Ballineen with her and two spinster daughters Eliza and Frances Arabella. He was 5 at the time. Do you know anything about the killing and how he was descended from Rebecca. I am guessing it might have been via Rebecca Jr b 1860 who married in Kinsale in 1883. Incidentally the 1911 census has Isaac Peyton living next door at 23. He died Q1 1922 a single farm labourer. He had three unmarried siblings living at #45. No wonder the prods died out. nobody married.
