McLaughlin>Phillips or Werry>Turner>Paul Turner

MONTHLY CHANGES: March | April | May

As of Mar, 2006, I have revised the probable children of Thomas and Mary

1-William [1771-1866];  2-George [1779-1848];  3-James [1780-1855];  4-Margaret [1781-     ]; 5-John [1786/92-1861]

Coroneary Church:  The Congregation was in the process of formation by 1755.  The first Minister, Rev. John Craig, was ordained to the joint congregations of Coroneary and Cootehill in 1764 and the Meeting House was built prior to this. In 1791 the current Church was built on the site of the old Meeting House.   http://www.presbyterianireland.org/congregations/index.html

James McLAUGHLIN  [1833-1903]  m1.1860  Margaret JARDINE [1835-1886] and  Janet (Jennie) JARDINE [1833-    ]*
  James; s/o Thomas McLaughlin and Jane McGill;  born 19 Oct, 1833 in Ontario;  married, first, Margaret Jardine on 3 Feb, 1860 and together they had: Nelson, William James, Chester Llewellyn and Eliza Jane;  he had two farm lots, Conc. VI, Lot 6 (47 acres) and Lot 8 (100 acres) in Gorrie, Howick, Huron;  married second Jennie Jardine on 17 Apr. 1888;  Thomas died 8 Mar., 1903 at Gorrie;  Thomas and Margaret are buried in Public Cemetery, Gorrie.
  Margaret;  d/o Gilbert Jardine  & Mary Steele (d/o John Steele & Jane UKN);  born c. Sep, 1835 in England;  died 21 Jun, 1886 in Gorrie.
  Janet, born Nov, 1833 in Ontario;  sister to Margaret;  married first to ??? Crawford and had 4 children in that marriage;  married 2nd 17 Apr, 1888 to James McLaughlin and they issued 2 children;

  Margaret & Janet;  grand-daughters of James Jardine [c.1765-1853] and Janet Oliver [c.1779-1832];  in Enniskillen Cemetery there are markers indicating John and Janet Jardine.  There were two Jardines of the Tyrone area: Gib and Thomas Jardine

Marriage, James &Margaret, Edmonton society via Louise Plewes
I found a marriage between James McLaughlin and Janet Crawford that states:  James McLaughlin, ae:53, widower, gentleman, born Scotland, lived at Gorrie, s/o Thomas & Jane McLaughlin, married Janet Crawford, 34, widow, Canada, Gorrie, d/o Gilbert & Mary Jardine, 17 Apr, 188?;  witn:  Nelson & Miss Eliza J. McLaughlin - All makes sense in that Janet could be Jennie who married and since James and Jennie were without partners they married; BUT, the part that mentions that James was born in Scotland really bothers me as, if true, then this whole line may be not of the Cavan McLaughlins.  Marr  #5138-88
